Orion Springfield Shopping Village

Orion Springfield is not only one of the biggest shopping malls in the world but it has also been awarded a 6 star green rating, making it one of the most sustainable.

Large centre pivoting doors, located above each main entry, are driven open with electric remote window control equipment. This allows the cool morning air to fill the centre; greatly reducing the running time needed for the airconditioning to bring the inside temperature to a comfortable level.

Port Central 1

Port Central 1 is a three-story office building that has achieved a 5 star rating by using the latest technology in natural lighting, passive air conditioning and operable sunshades, to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The operable sunshades are driven by linear actuators to allow light to enter the building while also keeping out the direct sunlight.

Portside Wharf

Portside Wharf has been fitted with a fail-safe battery backup system to high-level windows located in the commons areas of the complex. Within seconds of smoke detection, the windows are driven open to allow built up smoke and dangerous gases to escape; allowing patrons more time to exit the building safetly.

Year of the Built Environment (YBE)

The YBE demonstration house showcases sustainable building practices and ideas. The high-level louvre windows in the roof area are controlled by louvre screwjack actuators to regulate the flow of passive air entering the building.
