A cool breeze will not remove the hot air in a building ceiling cavity or above the doors and windows, as the rising hot air is trapped. The hotter the sun is the hotter the dwelling becomes.

Thermal convection currents or passive airflow escapes through the high level window. The hot air cannot build up.

Cooler air is drawn in and upwards through low level windows. The hotter the sun becomes the faster the air will circulate. The high level windows are also an added source of light.

Lighting and cooling costs are drastically reduced with this alternative that provides a more energy efficient dwelling.
